Rural Development and Women Education Trust

RDWET is a non-governmental organization in Ranipet, TamilNadu, dedicated to the empowerment and development of women in rural communities.

Our primary focus lies in promoting women's health and education, recognizing these as fundamental pillars for sustainable progress. At RDWET, we believe that investing in women's education is key to unlock their potential and foster positive change within their communities. Through various initiatives, we strive to provide women with access to quality education, vocational training, and resources to enhance their skills and knowledge. Additionally, we prioritize women's health, recognizing the importance of ensuring their well-being for overall community development. Programs

Evening Classes Promoting Education for Narikkuravar Children

In an effort to promote education among Narikkuravar children and raise awareness about its importance, evening classes are being conducted. These classes focus on educating both the children and their parents about the significance of education in village development and women's empowerment. Through these sessions, we aim to encourage enrollment and regular attendance of Narikkuravar children in schools, ultimately fostering their academic growth and contributing to the overall upliftment of the community.

Healthcare and Educational Initiative in Arakkonam Next to Thanikaipola

A healthcare and educational initiative has been launched in the vicinity of Arakkonam, adjacent to Thanikaipola. This program aims to provide accessible healthcare services and promote education, particularly focusing on empowering women. Through this initiative, various healthcare facilities and educational resources are being made available to the community, with the goal of improving overall well-being and educational attainment in the area.

Free Medical Camp

Labour day celebration

On the morning of May Day, at around 10 o'clock, a procession was organized in the agricultural region of Arakkonam, in observance of International Labor Day. The procession included farmers from the outskirts, as well as workers from the S.R. Gate and Neval Gate areas. Various participants such as agricultural laborers, auto-rickshaw drivers, contract workers involved in Neval processing, and those employed under the NREGA scheme took part. Greetings were extended, and sweets and cold drinks were distributed to celebrate May Day. The event was graced by the presence of important dignitaries who attended and addressed the gathering. Skilled workers from different professions also gathered and participated in the celebrations.

Empowering rural Women: International Women's Day Initiative

Our organization conducted a program where approximately 150 rural women from diverse villages in the Panavaram area received saplings and welfare support in celebration of International Women's Day. This initiative aim to empower rural women by providing them with resources and assistance for their sustainable livelihoods. Through this gesture, we strive to promote gender equality and uplift marginalized communities, fostering a brighter future for all women in the region.

Facilitating ST Certification for Narikkuravar Community

Following the inclusion of the Narikkuravar caste in the Scheduled Tribes (ST) list through government order, our organization is actively engaged in providing guidance and assistance for community members to obtain their ST certificates. This initiative aims to ensure that the Narikkuravar community receives the recognition and support they deserve, empowering them to access various benefits and opportunities available to scheduled tribes. Through our efforts, we are committed to facilitate the process of obtaining ST certification and advocating for the rights and welfare of the Narikkuravar people.

COVID-19 Community Awareness Initiative

Our organization, in collaboration with the Village Development and Women's Education Foundation, conducted a comprehensive awareness campaign from March 2020 to 2022. We reached out to individuals affected by the pandemic, including those with disabilities and roadside dwellers, along with supporters and frontline workers. Through educational sessions held in villages, we provided crucial information on hygiene, face masks, social distancing, and access to essential resources like food and water. Our initiative aim to empower communities with knowledge to combat COVID-19 and foster resilience during challenging times.
